Recenly, the Department of Public Welfare cut tens of thousands of children from its medicaid program due to budget cuts and a backlog of paperwork.
Many of those cut from the program are Children & Youth with Special Health Care Needs (CYSHCN). This Pittsburgh Post-Gazette article provides a great deal of information about the recent cuts.
