Renee Turchi, MD, MPH – Medical Director
Dr. Renee Turchi has served as the Medical Director of PA Home Initiative for the last 11 years. She is a board-certified, practicing pediatrician and Medical Director of the Center for CYSHCN at St. Christopher's Hospital for Children in Philadelphia, PA. She is a faculty member at Drexel University School of Public Health and Drexel University College of Medicine. Dr. Turchi's research and clinical work focuses on care coordination and children and youth with special health care needs (CYSHCN).
Salini Mohanty, MPH – Program Director
Salini Mohanty is the Program Director of PA Medical Home Initiative. She is also a doctoral candidate at the Dornsife School of Public Health at Drexel University. Salini received her Bachelors of Science degree from the University of Pittsburgh and her Masters of Public Health Degree from Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia. Salini's research focuses on maternal and child health with special focus on childhood and adolescent immunization and parental vaccine hesitancy. Salini is excited to be a part of the MHI team and contribute to the important work of MHI which improves the lives of children across Pennsylvania.
Iris Colon-Burchette – Senior Program Assistant
Iris Colon-Burchette is MHI's Administrative Assistant. She is the friendly voice who will answer your call to our main number (800-414-7391), who sends you notices about webinars and conferences and who keeps all of the MHI work organized. Iris has been employed with the PA Chapter AAP on various programs for 15 years. She brings a wealth of information about Pennsylvania resources and PA AAP contacts. Best of all, she is passionate about the MHI's mission and knowing that her work improves the lives of children across our state.
Jason Sutt – Practice Coordinator, Western PA
Jason Sutt holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Health Policy and Administration with a minor in Business from Pennsylvania State University. He has 18 years of direct involvement in primary care recruitment and relationship management. Jason has experience recruiting practices into the PA REACH program and facilitating the attainment of Meaningful Use incentives. He also previously held a position in which he recruited, trained, and maintained physician relationships for Pennsylvania's Family Care Network and ACCESS Plus programs.
Iris Ann Heiser – Parent Advisor, Western PA
IrisAnn is the Parent Advisor for the Western Region of the PA Medical Home Initiative. She holds a Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources from Geneva College. After her child was diagnosed with a special need her journey began as an advocate for children and with special needs. She is a member of the Local Task Force on the Right to Education in Allegheny County. She is also a Peer Monitor for the Bureau of Special Education's Cyclical Monitoring process. It is her desire to help children and their families navigate both the healthcare and education systems.
Carol Dugery – Practice Coordinator & Educational Specialist
Carol Dugery is the Eastern Practice Coordinator and Educational Specialist for the PA Medical Home Initiative. She holds a Bachelor's Degree from St. Joseph's University in Public Administration. As a parent of child who learns differently, and a former pediatric practice manger, Carol has a personal as well as professional interest in ensuring that all children and youth receive care coordination in a medical home setting. Promoting productive collaboration within the special education system as well as the health care system for families and children to ensure appropriate programming is her passion.
Andrea Johnson – Parent Advisor, Eastern PA
Andrea Johnson is a Philadelphia native. She attended Penn State and Temple University where she majored in Educational Psychology and Speech Pathology. Andrea has been with PA MHI since 2012, first as Parent Advisor to the Transition Team and now as Parent Advisor for MHI. She and her husband's youngest daughter of seven children, Cejuana, now 28, brought Andrea and her family on a personal journey through special education and special healthcare needs, ultimately leading her to her position with the MHI team as the Eastern Parent Advisor.
